Josh began his career as a hair stylist working with some of Auckland's most prestigious hair salons. When barbering began to trend again in the mid-2010s, he decided to switch it up and become a barber. Since then, Josh has developed his career in the bustling environment of Auckland CBD barbershops, cutting everyone from corporate executives and actors to musicians, along with guys who just want to look their best. Founding Gents & Rascals in 2018, Josh keeps his skills honed to perfection, working across both barbershop locations.

Britomart Store Manager - Roo began his journey in barbering in early 2018. After a brief stint in hospitality, he decided to learn the art of barbering from his brother, Josh. Since then, Roo has developed into one of the most in-demand barbers in Auckland. Specialising in all aspects of barbering, Rupert is a true craftsman, effortlessly blending both corporate and street styles.

Emily started her career as a hairstylist, specialised in women’s and mens scissor cuts, but she always had a preference for shorter styles. In 2017, she decided to transition into barbering, graduating at London School of barbering. Since then, Emily has perfected her skills, combining complex scissor techniques with stunning clipper work. You would be hard-pressed to find a better barber. In addition to managing our team at the HSBC branch, Emily maintains a truly impressive clientele.

Mike was one of the first barbers to join Gents and Rascals in 2018. When he came on board, he had a few years of experience and was already a decent barber. Over the past seven years, however, Mike has become a true master of his craft. He takes great pride in his customer service, ensuring that every client feels valued from the moment they walk into the barbershop until they leave. With a professional approach, Mike takes the time to understand each client's unique needs, crafting the perfect haircut just for them.

When we discovered Piripi’s Instagram profile, we were immediately impressed by his absolutely stunning haircuts and promptly reached out to recruit him. Fast forward a few years, and Piripi is happily settled at Gents and Rascals. He takes great pride in dedicating time to every haircut, ensuring the perfect result each time.

He joined Gents & Rascals as a senior barber in January 2025 and is quickly building a loyal customer base thanks to his fun personality and ability to create perfect styles with both scissors and fades. If you want to chat about the Premier League, he’s the barber for you!
